The objective of the Level 7 Diploma in Education Management and Leadership qualification is to develop learners’ understanding of policy, management theory and practice in education.

It provides learners with an opportunity to engage with the challenges facing professionals and policy makers in their own country. It will provide knowledge that underpins the ability to work as an effective manager in the education sector.

It combines both theoretical and practical knowledge in the education profession and will develop and enhance knowledge and skills in the areas of leading change, effective performance and team leadership. Learners will be able to work in a variety of roles within education administration and/or management.

STAGE TWO: MA EDUCATION MANAGEMENT AND LEADERSHIP TOP-UP – 4 – 6 MONTHS (In partnership with London Graduate School, UK)

Achieving the Level 7 Diploma in Education Management and Leadership qualification enables learners to progress into or within employment and/or continue their further study. As this qualification is approved and regulated by Ofqual (Office of the Qualifications and Examinations Regulation), learners are eligible to progress to Master’s top-up programmes with advanced standing in the UK and overseas.

TOP-UP (UNIVERSITY) PROGRESSION

Students can pursue a Master’s degree programme in partnership with London Graduate School, UK after completing this course. The top-up programme is available both online and on campus. The final 60 credits of the top-up are made up of either a dissertation or a dissertation and one module.

MODULES

Contemporary Issues in Education: Theory, Policy and Practice

By expanding awareness of educational theory, policy, and practice, the goal of this unit is to give learners a full understanding of the link between contemporary educational research and practice.
Learners will get a thorough understanding of current issues influencing education policy and their influence on organisations, as well as the impact of policy change on educational provision and the evolution of the educational system as a result of legislative requirements.

The Management of Educational Change

The goal of this unit is for learners to get a better knowledge of how educational leadership and management may assist in the change process while also fostering leadership in the learners’ unique educational setting.
Students will be able to identify challenges in education that require change, initiate change and improvement in educational organisations, and become familiar with methods for tracking the change process.

Managing Effective Intercultural Communication and Perspectives

The purpose of this unit is to increase learners’ awareness of the necessity of managing intercultural communication as well as views that aid in the development of educational policy across national and international contexts.
Learners can get familiar with the challenges and theoretical frameworks underlying intercultural communication and viewpoints, as well as how cultural factors can act as roadblocks to effective communication. They will also learn how to facilitate engagement in a variety of cultural backgrounds within academic settings, as well as how to manage intercultural communication in the classroom.

Pedagogy and Practice in Education

The purpose of this unit is to provide learners with a theoretical and practical foundation in teaching and learning techniques, as well as specific pedagogic knowledge and pedagogic practices.
This module will provide learners with knowledge and comprehension of the subject of pedagogy, including its nature of knowledge and function in the development of pedagogy in the educational setting. Learners will also be able to support their own pedagogical practices by drawing on theory and research.

Leading Reflective Practice in Education

The goal of this unit is to improve learners’ knowledge of reflective practice so that they can apply it to their own and others’ functions in an educational setting, as well as to personal development planning.
This module will assist learners in developing reflective practice skills in an educational setting by assisting them in understanding the role of reflective practice in leading the improvement of educational provision and practice. It will also shed light on the theory and reflective approaches in educational practices and assist learners in developing reflective practice skills in an educational setting.

Research Methods in Education

The goal of this course is to help students improve their research abilities by teaching them how to understand different research techniques, write research proposals, organise research activities, analyse and evaluate data, and understand the link between research and evidence-based practice.
Learners will be up to date on the latest research and techniques in educational settings. They’ll also be able to develop and construct research proposals for educational context management, analyse and evaluate a variety of data, and comprehend the link between research and evidence-based practice.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

For entry onto the Level 7 Diploma in Education Management and Leadership, learners must:

An honours degree in related subject or UK level 6 diploma or an equivalent overseas qualification

Mature learners with management experience (learners must check with the delivery centre regarding this experience prior to registering for the programme)

Learners must be 21 years old or older at the beginning of the course

English requirements: If a learner is not from a majority English-speaking country must provide evidence of English language competency.
